Sea-kayaking is not just about paddling a sea-kayak. There are many skills involved, one is how to paddle (which even is more complicated than just putting a stick in the water).
So, our sea-kayak basics day comprises of a session where we concentrate on 2 aspects of the range of skills required to go sea-kayaking safely.
1: personal experience in capsizing a sea-kayak, self rescue and group rescue.
2: basic paddle strokes, beach entry and beach landing.
As with every complex sport, once these basics are learned they need to be practised. Our sea-kayaks basics days are wet.... very wet. So bring a change of clothes.
