HOLIDAY SPECIAL: All Intro Level workshops are just $50 (normally $65) and Advanced Level classes are just $65 (normally $80) through the end of the year. If it's on the schedule for January, you can still get the Holiday pricing so long as you RSVP and send payment before Dec. 31!This is much more experimental and workshop oriented than our normal model shoots. The basic premise is to learn new creative lighting techniques by recreating something we find in a magazine. We'll flip through a few magazines, find some images we like (ones that were shot in a studio) and then try to reproduce them by breaking down the lighting they used. The goal of this meetup is to get a better understanding of the lighting that goes into making photos that appeal to us. We'll be using all the lights and modifiers and whatever other tools we have handy to make this happen.
We'll have a model lined up but this is going to be more of an exercise in lighting than working with a model.
Expect a little bit of head scratching and messing with lights... it should be a great learning experience for everyone.
If you have a picture you've seen somewhere that you've been dying to reproduce, email it to me ahead of time so I can be sure to include it in the pile we'll be flipping through.
Given the nature of the shoot, I'm keeping the number of participants low, to allow us the flexibility to move around, and to let everyone get a chance to shoot.
Ideally we will be running from 7 to 9:30 or 10PM. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
