As enterprises move to AWS, they have great choices for MySQL compatible databases. Knowing the best database for the specific job can save you time and money. At the July meeting, we will discuss high-performance databases for AWS and share our findings based on a benchmark test that simulates the workload of a high-transaction AWS-based solution. If you work with high transactional workloads, and you need a relational database to keep track of economically valuable items like revenue, inventory and monetary transactions, we invite you to come and participate in a discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of Aurora and other MySQL solutions for AWS.

Dave Anselmi is Director of Product Management at Clustrix and brings over 17 years of product management, integration, and project management experience in database technology and e-commerce.

Gil Colunga is Sr Engineer/Architect at Nordstrom and the technical lead for the eCommerce Operational Intelligence Team for Nordstrom.com. His team collects much of the telemetry generated by Nordstrom's website and the micro-services behind it. They have built several ingestion pipelines for data streams in AWS to "catch" all the telemetry necessary. One of these pipelines in particular, was built completely server-less with a combination of CloudWatch, Kinesis, Lambdas, and ElasticSearch with Firehose and S3 for the data lake. This architecture allows them to elasticly scale with virtually no manual intervention. ~~~
