Inaugural Android Developers Meetup at F5 Networks

Hello everyone! Come have some pizza (the good stuff!) and meet some fellow Android developers here in Seattle! For this first meetup, we will keep things reasonably casual and social. We'll start with pizza and socializing. I will take a moment to update everyone on acquiring demo hardware for test sessions, and people will have a moment to promote/present any topics they would like - any takers? Also, we should have a 'document camera' and projector as well for device demonstrations. Finally, we will have a Q&A period for people with problems will get a chance to ask them. The meetup will be sponsored by F5 Networks, who will be providing pizza and the conference room -- which happens to be the game room as well, if people would fancy a round of pingpong afterwards. :) Location, Directions and Parking Information: The meetup will occur at F5 Networks, 401 Elliott Avenue West, Seattle, WA, 98119. Parking is available on the street and at a variety of lots after 6 PM but NOT in the roundabout, where you will be towed. The front door will be locked, but people will be coming in and out. Please call my cell phone (Benn) at[masked] for entrance. If there are more questions, please let me know and I'll update the meeting invite!

This was great. Would like to see sessions that delve deeper into developing for the android for beginners or those that do not have any prior experience with android. Possibly have one speaker for the entire session that goes into some detail describing what's needed to set up the initial development environment, best practices, design patterns, frameworks, utilities, etc.

Thank you for allowing us to present. I appreciated everyone's feedback and questions. It was a fun meet-up with good pizza and a good venue (thanks F5). I'm looking forward to meeting many new developers and taking over the world with the Seattle Android Developer community!!!! There is money to be made out there.. let's see how we can help each other out.

Thank you for organizing this, Benn. I had a great time- a well-rounded group. We can all help each other in our own ways. We'll make sure to provide more technical insight in the meetups to come.

I had hoped that this would be by-and-for android developers. The only relevant presentation was by Alberto Fonseca. The others were hardly worthy of an email and had nothing to do with developing android applicaitons.

Enjoyed the social part at the beginning. Lots of developers to meet.
Liked Alberto's talk. A good length and technical level. Especially liked the "lessons learned"
Did not get much out of the next talk - just a lot of marketing hype not really directly related to Android - they had no developers present.
I missed the last talk as the meeting was taking too long and I needed to catch a bus.
I will be back next month.

Interesting talks, but not as technical as I would have liked.

I like Benn's idea about about test devices. It would be really good if we can make it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
