Android Developer Series: Moai Game Platform Deep Dive
Details
Hello everyone!
Some of you may remember the Android Game Development presentation I did a few months back. As a result, Todd Hooper, Patrick Meehan, and Mike Arcuri from Zipline Games (http://www.ziplinegames.com/) would like to do a deep dive into their game development API called Moai (http://www.getmoai.com/).
If you're a game developer, or would like to write games, then this library - backed by Patrick's 20+ years of game development experience - might just be the essential platform you've been looking for. Moai combines the best of mobile development, cloud resources, and the lua language to allow you to produce games spanning iOS, Android, and the Amazon cloud in a single language using a cohesive toolkit.
During the event, Patrick will walk us through the Moai architecture and core design concepts, followed by some lab time working on your personal game demo.
Bring:
Yourself (a game developer or scripter ready to build something cool)! Your Mac or Windows laptop with Xcode/Eclipse, Android NDK or Visual Studio installed! Your iOS or Android mobile device (there will be a very limited number of test devices available to borrow, courtesy of AT&T's device loaner program).
We'll provide you with the Moai SDK, a Moai Cloud account and developers from the Moai team to answer your questions.
And dinner. And a delicious cake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hLhWFArQAA).
