This meetup group is for seasoned and new users alike who are interested in the Grails framework and the Groovy programming language. While we declare ourselves as being in Seattle, we serve the greater Seattle area of Bellevue, Redmond and other outlying areas as well and keep our meeting times and places flexible to meet the demands of our members.

For members and non-members alike, we are in the process of maintaining an ongoing wiki on Grails and Groovy at http://grails.wikispaces.com/. Please feel free to drop by and check it out from time to time.

As an ongoing tradition, newbies to their first meeting get their first drink on me so show up, bring a friend and order a good one. :)

Want to attend?

Last meeting at Elephant and Castle in downtown Seattle worked ok for everyone so again we will be meeting there. Ample parking, close to the light rail and good selection on tap so folks... bring an appetite and a thirst for beer and conversation.

  • Sep 30
    • New member
“I did Java/J2ee for 7 years then did 2 years Ruby/Rails. Now back doing Java/J2ee and would like to find a Grails job. Grails allows for fast prototyping/development without the immaturity of Rails and community. Grails is the best of both worlds.”

“Spent the past 8 years working with older Java frameworks and a huge codebase and database. Groovy/Grails appears to offer extreme productivity and the future of web development - interested in learning the tools end-to-end to build enterprise apps.”
