How did your 2015 go as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

In 2013 I stopped running after my partner was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer shortly before the Lake Sam half. Jaylan is doing great now, and every day he lives is a day he beats the odds. Now that the pressures of being a caretaker have mostly abated, I'm ready to challenge my body and mind as a runner again.

What is your plan for 2016? Any races on the calendar for you?

My goals are to rebuild consistency as a runner, as well as the relationships I was forming with all of you wonderful people. I need to listen to my body more, as I've injured myself by overdoing it, even when my body felt capable. Respect the IT band! Etc.

We have runs everyday of the week and have found success in running with others. When do you typically run?

I'd say I'm a buddy-motivated runner, night or day.

Do you have a big goal for 2016? How can we help you get there?

I'm going to do a 6k in Lake Stevens in early March, and I'm considering a mid-year half.

How long have you been running and what motivates you?

I run for my heart. I run for my head. I run because I can.

I miss my SGLRG! I'm getting back in the game - er, the shoes. See you Saturday mornings.
