  • Nytec Innovation Center

Seattle Hardware Startups Meetup Group holds a monthly meeting at the Nytec Innovation Center which is a new State-Of-The-Art Design and Engineering Facility located in Kirkland. Nytec (www.nytec.com) is an industry leader in engineering services and resources to make on-demand engineering happen.

The event will begin at 6:00pm and the first guest speaker will take the stage at 8pm. However, starting at 7:30 attendees will be invited to take turns on stage to introduce themselves and share any information they feel is relevant to advancing the agenda of our meeting.

We are currently considering multiple guest speakers and expect to make a decision and will update this page once a selection has been made. Please contact our organizer if you would like to suggest a guest speaker.

Complimentary pizza & beverages including beer and wine will be served starting at 6:00pm so please arrive early so that you can have a drink and network among others who are passionate about Hardware Startups.

Great meetup! Thanks again to Gregg and Nytec for hosting an excellent event. No complaints other than that the room is a bit bright-sounding so it was sometimes hard to hear. Getting some sound damping or furniture in the room (which is obviously still under construction) eventually will be icing on the cake. Look forward to the next one!

Many in our group have looked at crowdfunding as a potential source of funding for new products. But there are also some downsides. It's important to know all the pros and cons as they relate to your particular project, especially when it comes to protecting your unique intellectual property.

Great piece from Website Magazine on this topic - perhaps something for discussion this Tuesday?

Robert your right it is good to know the pros and cons. Just because you get funded through crowdfunding it does not negate the hard work to correctly determine development and cogs costs to realize the end product and deliver for your investors.
