The Arizona-based legal tech startup Traklight will be in town on June 17th as a co-sponsor of the Seattle Tech Meetup held that night. Their founder and CEO Mary Juetten has agreed to take time to meet with a small group of Seattle legal hackers and share her story about starting, building, and growing her legal tech startup. She'll also demo Traklight and show how it works.
Traklight is a "the only self-guided software platform that creates a custom intellectual property (IP) strategy for your business." It helps entrepreneurs and small business owners to identify their business's intellectual property and understand what they need to do to protect it. In essence, it performs an automated intellectual property audit of a startup or small business. It’s an invaluable tool for startups, and small businesses and can be a great lead qualification or marketing tool for lawyers and law firms.
Traklight won Success Magazine’s 2013 Start Small, Win Big contest, placed second in Grow America’s She Can Pitch contest, and was a Startup of the Year finalist at Arizona’s 2013 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation. Traklight’s been mentioned in Above the Law http://abovethelaw.com/2014/05/from-the-career-files-if-software-is-eating-the-world-is-law-next/ (full disclosure, Dan wrote the piece) and Mary is currently writing a column for Forbes (http://www.forbes.com/sites/groupthink/2014/06/03/protect-your-intellectual-property-before-its-too-late/).
The event will be graciously hosted by Aeon Law Group – big thanks to Adam Philipp and the folks there.
We’ve only got 20 spots available for this meeting so sign up quick. If you can’t make this event, don’t worry, we’ve got some really great events lined up for July – November so there should be plenty of legal hacking to go around!
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
