Southend Meet & Greet at Marlene's

Yes, there is a quiet area at Marlene's - it's actually their classroom area upstairs, away from the deli and cafe where other people are.  There are tables and individual chairs, so no one will be stuck in a booth with no way to get out.

Like the meeting at Tully's on Capital Hill, this is an opportunity to just meet and talk to other sensitive people who live south of Seattle.  Conversations range over a wide variety of subjects and there is often an exchange of ideas on how to cope with various HSP issues.

Please do not bring any outside food or drinks into our meeting.  One of the reasons that we're able to use this room for free is that we patronize their deli.  They have coffee, tea, apple cider, fresh juices, etc., as well as a buffet and other cool food that sensitive people can eat.

I hope to see you there.

I am sensitive, but I also can have an edge, something I had to develop as an assertive technique. What do you think of that?

I know what you mean! I am very sensitive yet I come across as very self confident and bold which can be off putting to others. But this is a defense I have learned to hide my vulnerabilities. People who really get to know me are very shocked that I am a commercial diver. I had to overcome a lot of my natural inclinations and sensitivities to get ahead in my field and I notice it's effects all throughout my life.
