My physician recommended that I read Aron's book about HSP since she suspected I was an HSP. It rang very true to me.
I read the first one, The Highly Sensitive Person and just ordered the accompanying workbook. I'm also reading the the bestselling book "Quiet", which has a lot of overlap with HSP.
I just left a job that had an open workspace that absolutely drove me to distraction. It was noisy, and the floor actually vibrated. The kitchen was in the middle of the open area, so you could smell everyone's lunch being heated up. There weren't enough closed meeting rooms, but lots of collaboration pods. It was an HSP nightmare.
Just meeting to talk sounds great to me! I guess there could be variations, meet at a restaurant, meet outdoors, meet at a coffee shop, meet to discuss a specific book or topic. Any sort of guest speakers would be great.
I'd like to meet other people like me, I feel I'm surrounded by robust extroverts who don't understand me.
I live in Seattle, by myself since it's quieter. No pets, no children, just peace and tranquility when I'm home.
