When and how did you become aware that you're an HSP? And how did you learn about our group?

Just found out about this type of person a few days ago online while doing research on relationship issues. The internet is marvelous. It all sounded familiar, similar to my life so I took the self-test. Passed. I then googled meetup Seattle and HSP to find this site.

Have you read any of Elaine Aron's books about the HSP trait? Which ones?

Not yet. I have read excerpts and listened to a radio interview. Planning on reading.

How have you experienced being an HSP? Please share a couple of examples of how being Highly Sensitive affects your life.

It can be difficult to meet new people. I generally like to observe people before jumping into conversation and have done this all my life. I sometimes "reflect" a group's or a person's feeling. It is why I can do a large group that is spiritual or joyful and have to leave or avoid a group that is angry. And then am exhausted. Meeting people through work is okay because the interaction is somewhat prescribed. Florescent lights - aargh.

What sort of activities do you enjoy? Besides just "meeting to talk," what sort of activities (if any) would you enjoy, as part of an HSP meetup group?

Music activities, hiking/nature walks, almost anything on water, meeting for dinner or coffee and chatting, possibly a writing group.

What do you hope to get from your membership in our HSP meetup? (i.e. friendship, activity partners, support, networking, etc)

I am very interested in finding out how others deal in the world. And would love to share my experiences. Hopefully making some new friends and activity partners.

Introduction

Hi, I'm Faye. Apparently I am HSP and INFJ. I have travelled quite a bit. Enjoy the people I work with. I enjoy my house, gardens, fish pond, cat, birds, cooking, sharing dinner with friends. I like many kinds of music.
