Intro to Python Programming

We've been offering Intro to Webdev (every Thursday at 7pm), and it takes a turn onto the serpentine road of Python programming. Python is a language that can be used in Web development and in desktop application programming. It is used in education, scientific research, gaming, and more. Some educators argue that Python is the best first language for teens because of its simplicity and versatility. Try it out and decide for yourself.

It is recommended that you download and install Python 2.7.3 before class. Find the installer for your system at http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.7.3/ then bring your laptop to class to experiment as we go!

Your donation of $15 - $30 per class helps Jigsaw Renaissance offer this class and pays the instructors for their teaching time. If you'd like, you can "Chip In" at the website http://www.jigsawrenaissance.org/learning/webdev/. There is also a "donations" box available in the space.

No one will be turned away from class for lack of funds. In fact, since it's on the honor system, no one will even know.
