Sign-up Requirements:  This is a 5 nautical mile paddle in cold water that may be subject to wind waves.  To sign up for this paddle, you must be an intermediate or beyond paddler with good boat-handling, bracing, re-entry, and rescue skills and practice, and be able to paddle a sustained 2.5 knots pace.  The required kayaking experience and skills need to be documented in your meetup-profile information and your answers to the sign-up questions.   RSVP's without answers to the sign-up questions will be deleted.

    Schedule and Itinerary:

5:00 p.m. - Meet at Village Pizzeria (a classy restaurant, with good food and expansive views out over Saratoga Passage), catch a beverage and dinner, off-load, and car-shuttle to Clinton (10 minutes each way; or car shuttle can be one-way with a 15 minute bus ride back, the cars all in Clinton, and no back-drive required; the buses leave Clinton at 4:00, 5:00 and 5:50 p.m.).

7:00 p.m - Launch and paddle 5 n.m. to Clinton, with ebb current up to 0.7 knots.

    9:30 p.m. - Arrive in Clinton, take-out, complete the car-shuttle back-drive, and head home.

    Equipment and Logistics:

Bringing a boat light, lantern or headlamp is required for this paddle.

Anyone who has extra kayak-carrying cradles and straps, please bring them to minimize the number of folks needing to do the car-shuttle back-drive.

If planning to attend, coordinate logistics with the event host at[masked]-3015.

    Conditions and Contingency:

This paddle is contingent upon reasonably safe wind and weather conditions.

    Equipment Requirements:

Kayak, paddle, pfd, paddlefloat, pump, sprayskirt, water and snacks, waterproof hat, VHF radio if you have one, wetsuit or drysuit.  Extra change of warm clothes in a dry-bag.  Cash or credit card for dinner.  Boat light.
