What new place do you want to paddle in this year?

Always open minded.

What is your favorite place to paddle here in the NW?

The slough at Everett. The San Juan Islands.

What is your sea kayaking experience level (beginner, intermediate, expert)?

I was a sea kayak guide for one summer in the San Juan Islands. I suck at Eskimo rolling.

Where are some of the places you have been kayaking?

Actually canoeing. Missouri River from Gavin's Point to Ponca. Santa Elena Canyon between Mexico and Big Bend National Park in Texas. The Niobrara River in Nebraska from Valentine to Rocky Ford. Also Verdigree Creek, Logan Creek, Dismal River and the Elkhorn River. The South Loup River from Pressy State park to Cumro. The Eleven Point in Missouri. The Snohomish River from Everett Slough out to Sound and back up with tide. Nooksack River from Everson to Ferndale. The Wenatchee River above Leavenworth. Hood Canal. Puget Island channels in the Columbia. I spent a summer guiding Sea Kayaks in the San Juans. I've paddled out of Gig Harbor and Eagle Harbor.

I like paddle craft. I was raised in Nebraska where we were so desperate for white water, that after passing through a ripple, we'd haul the boat back upstream and do it again. We'd paddle wet moss for a thrill.
