Re: [seakayaking-35] Signing up for Bobs skill sessions vs borrowing kayaks

Great message about the borrowing confusion, Saul. (aka Saint Saul.
I called two people to make sure they needed a kayak yesterday for bob's class.
Thanks for the educative email.
Things went fine yesterday. awesome. She is very good help and a very sweet person.
Yesterday, Brain, Jeannie and I as well as Phyliss, Kelly and Victor came and borrowed your kayaks. There were a ton of people there. Brian and I shared a tandem. He didn't want to get wet and I don't mind staying dry. Jeannie wanted to stay dry as well and this kayaker named, John, gave us a great stroke clinic. We were edging and using a bow rudder and making SHARP turns in the tandem believe it or not. We feel much more coinfindent now about paddling. Thank you, Saul.
Btw, I don't know how you do it by yourself. It took three of us to stack the kayaks.
it's amazing you keep up with everything by yourself.
Jeannie and I have decided you need a wife to organize your garage better though.
Other than that, no complants :)
Another issue to address is similar to the borrowing kayak/have own kayak ambiguity.
I've gotten a couple of emails from people who say they would like to paddle with us at log boon park  May 17th and they own their own kayak. But they can't sign up because the event is full.
I think we should let them come on their own. They won't make my life harder. How do we open it up and let them sign up? Should we have a double sign up for every event? One for people borrowing and one for have own kayak. Does meet up let you have two different limits on the same event?
Talk to you soon,
Going to TX tomorrow.
Which means I won't be answering emails too much, hopefully.
Is it alright if for the May 17th event you hold on to the emails until it gets closer.
p.s. if you don't reach my cell phone, feel free to try the land line at my mom's house. [masked]-3035. Sometimes I leave my phone upstairs and don't hear it.

There seems to be a bit of confusion regarding Bob's skill sessions and borrowing a kayak.

If you have your own kayak just sign up for Bob's session. He removed the limit so you should be able to easily RSVP.

If you need to borrow a kayak sign up for the "loaner" event that is typically scheduled for 15 minutes earlier to give us time to issue equipment. The number of loaners is limited and having those of you with your own boats signing up for the "loaner" event makes it hard to administer.

This problem will go away in June when SRK goes to summer hours and has rentals available for the skills sessions.
