Denny Lee (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dennyglee), Technology Evangelist with Databricks, will demonstrate how easily many Data Sciences and Big Data (and many not-so-Big Data) scenarios easily using Apache Spark. This introductory level jump start will focus on user scenarios; it will be demo heavy and slide light!
• Exploring Wikipedia with Apache Spark with Scala
• Just in Time Data Warehousing with Spark SQL
• Simplified Machine Learning with Python and Spark
Note, we will not be focusing on Spark R for this session, but this is because we will have a special joint Seattle R Users Group / Seattle Spark Meetup session in February.
In addition, we will also have a quick drill down into What's New with Spark 1.6. There will be time for Q&A and discussion so loop on by to Galvanize Seattle offices for what is sure to be fun session!
