Grand Ridge Park/Duthie Hill

Ever wonder what's inside all those trees on the opposite side of I-90 from Tiger Mountain? That is Grand Ridge Park and that is where we will be headed.

We will begin our hike by riding bus #554 from Seattle to the Issaquah Highlands. The trailhead is just a short walk away from the bus stop. We will walk the length of the Grand Ridge trail to Duthie Hill and back.

This hike is about 12 miles round trip, but not too much elevation gain (~500 feet or so). This hike is good for a rainy day, being pretty much entirely under trees.

Schedule:
Meet downtown 2nd Ave. and Stewart St. - 9:15 AM
Board bus #554 to Issaquah - 9:30 AM
Arrive Issaquah and begin hike - 10:05 AM
Finish hike - board bus back home - ~ 3:30 PM
Arrive downtown Seattle - ~4:00 PM

Return buses leave Issaquah every 30 minutes.

I'm sorry I'll miss another hike. Weekends are difficult for me. I'm hoping to finally meet this group at Wallace Lake. I'm impressed with the activity record of this group. Kudos to the organizers.

Hello guys! I'm going to meet you on the bus, because I'll be boarding the same bus 554 in Mercer Island.
Or at the Issaquah Highlands Park an Ride. Is this the final bus stop we're starting the hike from?
Looking forward to seeing you there!!

Sounds great but weekends hard for me to be free. Would love to do this on a weekday. Are you getting off the bus at Highlands park and ride, or is there a better bus stop? Thanks for any help. Be v happy to pay for a guide book/sheets of suggested walks and bus routes - such a useful resource in your brain Eric.

So my friend and I live in South King Co. We were wondering if we could just meet you guys at the trailhead instead of driving to Seattle to catch the bus :) Please let me know where and when to meet you guys!! Super excited about this hike!!

Sure, look for us at Issaquah Highlands P&R, just a few minutes after 10:00.

Great idea Eric, I've wanted to check this trail out since I heard about it through volunteering with WTA, but never had a chance! I believe it is almost brand-new...

I use my ORCA card all the time in Seattle but just wanted to be sure, I can use my card for the bus ride out of the city.

I work in Issaquah and ride that bus every weekday. $2.50 each way and you can pay with Orca.
