Building Web Applications on AWS

Norm Johanson and Steve Roberts from Amazon Web Services will speak about building .NET web applications on AWS.  They will give an introduction to AWS services and demonstrate how to interact with them right from within Visual Studio.  You will also learn how to deploy to AWS from Visual Studio as well as from the command line for build automation.

Norm Johanson has over ten years of professional software development experience focusing on developer tooling. At Amazon Web Services he works on the AWS SDK for .NET and the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio. Prior to joining AWS he worked at Serena Software making Agile management software, and at Rational Software on their UML modeling tools.

Steve Roberts has been a professional software developer for over twenty years, primarily in developer tooling. For the last ten years he has worked on various integrations with Microsoft’s Visual Studio IDE. At Amazon Web Services he works on the AWS SDK for .NET and the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio.

I must say this was a great meeting. Thanks for much, and I'll see everyone next time.

I guess I was more interested in why I would want to build an app using AWS than how I would go about it - and so the part about "They will give an introduction to AWS services" is what caught my eye. I did gather that AWS (and Visual Studio) could be valuable for those who need those kind of resources.

I've opened up a few more seats. This should be an exciting meetup.
