Adobe Flex/Flash User Group Tour

Greg Wilson will be joining us from Adobe to discuss the latest developments in Flex

Flex is now officially an Apache Incubator project and activity has already started on creating the next generation of the Flex SDK, now officially known as "Apache Flex".  Come see the latest 4.6 features, get a full update on the current and future direction of Flex, and see some new features already in the works.  We'll also show you how to get involved in the Apache project.  This session will be marketing-speak-free, but will contain ample amounts of pizza and beer.

Here's a link to the google street view for the parking entrance: http://g.co/maps/fqzms ... go up the right ramp, or straight, to find a parking spot.  There will also be street parking on eastlake, behind the hotel.  You'll be able to walk directly into the conference room: http://g.co/maps/p6vj2

About Greg Wilson:
I have three passions - Technology, Photography, and Aviation

Technology - My LinkedIn profile shows my history. I've been lucky enough to have been involved in all sorts of technologies. For the past 6 years I've been with Adobe speaking at events, blogging, building tools, helping developers and learning something new every single day. I also manage a team of geniuses (each of whom are clearly smarter than me!) that is known as the Adobe Enterprise Platform Evangelist Team.

Photography and Aviation - My Aerial photography website - I figured out a way to combine two passions into something that covers the cost of both. I have shot for more than 300 customers during the past 5 years. More of my photography can be found on my SmugMug page.

It was OK. I was under the impression that it would be more about what is coming in the Flex, etc. but it turned in to more of just a Q & A free-for-all. I'm very disappointed in this so called "evangelism team". I am pretty disappointed.

Enlightening. It still doesn't eliminate the pain that many developers and customer companies will be shouldering over the transition period. It still doesn't really make up for the very very poor handling of the initial informational release.

I truly hope that the corporate power are capable of learning from their mishandling of this whole fiasco. I think that they might want to have some conversations with people like Alan Mulally about how to remember who they really work for; customers and the developer community. It isn't all about the investment community and the executives salary which in many cases seems to be way over over paid for the management skill level that they exhibited in this matter.

I've updated the map and added extra directions to the description, as Google Maps was having trouble matching the address to the Hotel Entrance.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
