Public Convention Planning Meeting for Everfree NorthWest 2012

Everfree Northwest is pleased to announce their first public planning meeting for the convention. We'll be looking for suggestions and feedback for the event and the schedule, as well as hoping to meet and greet those who want to directly get involved in making this weekend a reality. While we always have a good time together, keep in mind this meeting is more on the convention planning and business side of things, rather than a purely social meetup.

We'll be meeting at the Jigsaw Renaissance (http://www.jigsawrenaissance.org/), who has generously donated their space and have pledged their support for Everfree and Bronies in general. We'll be meeting from 1PM-6PM at the address below:

Jigsaw Renaissance
INSCAPE bldg, Rm 140
815 Seattle Blvd S.
Seattle, WA 98134

[masked]

The Jigsaw Renaissance is located in the International District near Uwajimaya. Free parking is limited, so please show up early! However, they are located only a block from a major Transit Center. We are encouraging everypony who can to bring some sort of snack item for a potluck-style meal. This includes cupcakes, muffins, chips, dip, pretzels, soda, salad, cheese & crackers etc. Whatever you'd like to bring, we'd be happy to have.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP via the Seattle MLP Meetup.com group so we have a good idea what our headcount will be. We hope to see you all there with your thinking caps on!

I've recently put photos from this gathering here: https://www.dropbox.com/gallery/... I'll be taking them down soon, though. If anyone would upload them to this meetup area, I'd appreciate it..!

It's an honor to have Everfree at Jigsaw Renaissance!

Everyone was excellent and it was a real joy to hear from everyone that wants to get involved with Everfree.

Ponies, party food and planning go well together.

It was well worth coming out to and I think it was about as productive (and fun!) as anyone could have hoped. Thanks to everyone that also brought food!

So much work got done, and a positive experience for all! Awesome! :D

This honestly went a lot better than I was expecting. I was thinking we would be sitting around talking about the con and someone would crack a joke now and again. It was more than that. It was engaging, and I really would like to help make this con become the most awesome thing to ever happen in the northwest.

    Let it snow!

    We're bringing bread :)

    January 14, 2012

  • Jonathan S.

I'm planning on bringing some rather unique treats myself. I'm also likely to get some food and go to Gameworks afterwards for any of you that might be interested.

    January 14, 2012

  • Logic G.

We'll try to think of something to bring, but we don't know what yet. Any needs in particular?

    January 14, 2012

  • Marcus M

    I'm bringing homemade Jello.
    Who doesn't love Jello?

    January 14, 2012

  • Lion K.

I have drinks there from the Pinkie Pie party. (Yes, they've been refrigerated.) The 2 or 3 cases of drinks should probably be consumed in about... Oh,... Say 5 minutes.

    January 13, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

@Markarian: I've got banana nut muffins! I can grab other things too!

Im probably going to bring a pie made of human fingers, Seems appropriate.

    January 13, 2012

  • Markarian

Okay, who is planning to bring snacks and what are they bringing? Our staff is bringing some chips and cookies so far. Is anypony else planning to bring food or drink?

    January 13, 2012

  • Mike h.

@christina No i didnt get you're email where did you send it?

    January 13, 2012

  • Mike h.

just a note, would anyone else like to carpool with @peppermint jam and I?

    January 12, 2012

  • Southern W.

I won't be able to make it saturday but I will try to make it to everfree northwest itself.

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

    @Mike: That works too!

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@peppermint jam why dont you just email me you're phone number and ill email you mine, so that there's no question. my email is piro2247 at hotmail dot com (with @ and . in there respective places)

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

@Mike: Right then. I'll be outside the Bellevue Square Mall front entrance. I'll...I dunno, wear a pony shirt or bring Twilight Sparkle or something.

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@Peppermint Jam ill prolly be trying to get there around noon so i can maximize my ability to get free parking so probably around 11:30

@Lion Kimbro thank you good sir

    January 11, 2012

  • Lion K.

@Mike: I would guess.. 12:15? 12:30? If there isn't parking in the back, there's usually enough parking around the neighborhood.

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

@Mike: I just thought of this, but what would be a good pickup time?

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

ok and what time would be listed as early?

    January 11, 2012

  • Lion K.

Behind the building -- but arrive early. It might fill up. We really shouldn't fill up the whole space, too -- there are other artists using the building, and they should be able to have priority access...

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@peppermint Jam yeah, that should be enough, i just need to make sure of pricing and such, as well as who else will be getting a ride with me

on that note, in the original post someone mentioned that there is some free parking available near the place. this would make it so i wouldnt have to charge, if someone could enlighten me as to where these are, that would be awesome (note: if they do not exist oh well XP)

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

I got about ten dollars to spare. Would that be enough?

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@peppermint Jam i was thinking a few bucks a person, it would all depend on how many people were riding with me

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

@Roy: That isn't so bad. At least now I have a backup.

@Mike: How much would parking be?

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@Peppermint Jam bellevue isnt to bad no, that shouldnt be a problem, i just need help paying for parking

    January 11, 2012

  • Roy G. B.

@Peppermint: Worst case scenario, the 550 will run you to/from the event for $2.50 each way.

    January 11, 2012

  • Peppermint J.

@Mike: Do you think Bellevue Square would be too far out of your way?

    January 11, 2012

  • Mike h.

@christina, i was thinking about driving but i would need someone to pay for parking, but if i can get someone i can take 4 people down ( note i live in seatac, so close to there would be optimal, but i dont mind going a little out of the way)

    January 11, 2012

  • Christina

Hiya! Is anyone carpooling from the downtown Seattle area? I'm hoping to get a ride!

    January 11, 2012

  • Roy G. B.

Yeah, we're doing food potluck-style, so we're encuring bronies to bring chips, sodas & food to share.

    January 9, 2012

  • Logic G.

Do you need us to bring anything? Snacks, etc?

    January 8, 2012

  • Jon

I would be fine for most Saturdays, but about once every 4-5 weeks I would be busy. 14th is clear for me though.

    January 7, 2012

  • Lion K.

Yes there is Internet and wireless.

sorry I havent been around much, bronytoons is time consuming. but i'd love to help with this con, and if theres internet at this meeting, I can bring the staff from BT.

We have computers in the other room, including one with Skype, but the building bandwidth is *very* poor.

    January 7, 2012

  • Galileo

I guess another question is could we hold it later in the day? If there is a way for Miz, I and anyone to talk vitually during the meetings that would be cool.

    January 7, 2012

  • Miz

I am very interested in going to to this, because i'm planning to voulenteer. However, my programming class is that day and I wont be able to be there.
    physically, anyway.
if someone has a skype account and is going, could i use skype to show up as a disembodied head on a screen for a few hours?

    January 7, 2012

  • Galileo

Ok. I will try in the future to maybe change my days off to Saturday and Sunday but for now I won't be able to make it.

    January 7, 2012

  • Roy G. B.

For now, Saturday is the best day for most involved . Sadly, it's a case of not pleasing everyone.

    January 7, 2012

  • Galileo

So is Saturday going to be the normal day? Just curious cause I won't be able to make any of them if that is the case.

    noted.
