Re: [photo-492] The future of this group

Hi All,

Thanks for your mails, and I'm glad you are excited about the group.

After much thought, I've decided to step down as organizer of this group. However, I'm more than happy to pass the reigns off to someone else if they want to take it over completely. I was glad to hear from a few folks that they are interested in continuing the group, so hopefully someone will. That said, I also got the impression that most of you are simply interested in food, more so than food photography and styling. If so, you all might be more interested in these groups:

?Seattle Dining Meetup group (
?Seattle Eats meetup group

For the photo project, I actually already run something like this around my website "Still Life With" ( And, anyone can participate... you just need to sign up for a free Flickr account.?

If someone does want to take over, it means picking up the yearly meetup fee, charged by, which is over $100 per year. This isn't a fee that I charge... just a fee that Meetup charges to organizers. If no one does, than the group will be closed on August 31st.?

Thanks all,

be candy (halloween!), for November, some sort of edible thanksgiving?
yummy... for December a drink (Eggnog) or cookie, or rib roast from?
dinner...? Have the theme subject posted by the 15th of the following?
month, i.e. October's candy due by 11/15, etc. ? This way, for those who?
might not make an event could socialize and contribute via the 'net. ?
Those who aren't food stylists could receive much needed (assume)?
critique from those with food styling experience, and the list goes on... ?
My hubby suprised me with some GREAT food photography books on our?

rodeos, etc.).? Rainy weather in fall/winter makes for some great times?
to hole up and shoot indoors, OR, congregate some place warm, and talk?
about food, photography and ideas!
