Be aware we are in Microsoft Bldg. 35 - Room 2615-Kalaloc this time around, we will be outside greeting people.
Abstract:
Ever wanted to create video games but didn't know where to start? If so, this talk will show you one of the ways that will allow you to use the goodness of C# for your game dev cravings. We will look at the basics of Unity, a development engine for creating multiplatform 2D and 3D games, including what it is, what it does and how to set it up. We will also cover a real-life scenario on how to get going in your first game building adventure.
Speaker:
By day, Stacey Haffner is a Program Manager at Microsoft working on the .NET Framework. By night (and on the weekends) she does indie game development and contributes back to the community, helping to drive developer excitement around gaming. Stacey recently co-founded What Up Games (http://whatupgames.com/), a small indie game studio and released three games targeting PC and/or Android. She is currently working on her largest game, Operation Brasnodar which will be exclusively available on PC.
