Seattle - Using F# to Create a Shared Logic Layer

Details
James Moore will be Joining us to talk even more F# this month, specifically on building a F# driven shared business logic layer for your apps.
James Moore bio:
I'm a Senior Software Developer at Digium, where I work on iOS and Android applications using Xamarin. I'm interested in applying functional programming ideas to user interfaces in the mobile space, using both F# and Scala. In the past, I've worked on consumer and enterprise web applications at companies including Classmates and MP3.com.
Abstract: The Digium team has leveraged the power of F# actors to create shared logic for our Android and iOS softphone applications. In this talk we'll discuss how you can use F# actors and Reactive Extensions (Rx) to share logic across platforms, greatly simplifying the development of new features and easing bug fixes.
I'll be talking about:
• Using Rx and F# MailboxProcessors (aka actors) and to build a reactive UI
• How and why we decide what gets done in C# and F#
• Testing
