Workshop: From Zero to API to App
Hosted by Seattle Mobile Web Apps
Details
Have you ever wished for an even easier (faster) way to build an iOS or Android app? How about if, instead of writing Obj C/Swift, Java or even HTML/JS/CSS, there was a way to build a native app "without it"...
Join your fellow developers at this all-day, hands-on workshop hosted by Apigee's Greg Rewis (former Dreamweaver and PhoneGap Evangelist at Adobe) on June 24th in Seattle and June 25th in Bellevue. This is a developer workshop, not a sales or marketing pitch, as everything we use in the workshop is free and open source. ;-)
We'll start the workshop off by learning to build APIs using Node.js (and we'll even do a quick crash course in Node for those who aren't used to it) to provide the data for our app, deploy the APIs to the cloud and then consume them in a native mobile app. We'll be building the mobile app from scratch, using a brand new, open source framework called Ignite Engine (http://ignite.apigee.com).
In a nutshell, the Ignite Engine framework lets you define and build your entire app using JSON, which is then compiled into a truly native mobile app. Sounds interesting, huh?!
