Seattle RailsBridge Rails for Women Workshop

Friday, December 14th, 6:30-9pm (REQUIRED): Software Installation Fest
Saturday, December 15th, 9:30am-4pm: Rails Workshop

4:30pm: Workshop Afterparty

This workshop is intended to reach out to women who are new to Ruby and Rails. Men are welcome to come - please find the woman in your life that wants to learn Ruby and Rails who will register and bring you as a guest.

The workshop is  FREE of charge!

We are still looking for teachers, TAs, and logistics help:

The workshop will be held at Substantial, 900 E Pine, Suite 202, Seattle

In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information.

We'll meet up Install Fest day to install all of the software you need, and then spend workshop day learning and writing code. Be sure to attend the installfest especially if you have an older mac, rails can be very tricky on older versions of OSX.

Total programming novices, system administrators, and developers in other languages are welcome to attend. We'll have different classes separated by experience level. Each participant needs to bring his or her own computer.

When you RSVP you'll be asked a few question about your operating system, level and type of programming experience, and whether you will be bringing any children. We will plan for a playgroup on site if you're bringing a child.

Snacks will be provided Friday evening and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

If you have questions, please send a message to the organizers.

Fabulous! It was intense, energizing, really fun; and the best part was the generosity and graciousness and patience of all the great volunteers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
