Juliana and PAVA: Ancient Russian Songs at the Seattle Central Library (FREE)!

Listen to ancient Russian folk songs collected from expeditions to remote Russian villages, preserved for centuries solely by oral tradition! Juliana and PAVA is a vocal ensemble performing ancient Russian folk songs. Many songs are accompanied by rare traditional Russian instruments, such as the Russian hurdy-gurdy, balalaika, various flutes or percussion instruments. The singers wear colorful, authentic village costumes that were actually worn--some of which are over 200 years old.
