Details

We'll be at Moz.

We say user-centered design, right? Who are users? People. As UXers, whether we admit it or not, we care about people -- about the human experience. Activists are individuals who care about the human experience, and strive to bring about social change. How can we, as UX practitioners, use our power as a user advocate to do acts of activism?

Everyone deserves a say in our technology revolution, and UX can bring us closer to ensuring that everyone has a say in our technology revolution. This talk will give specific examples from the speaker's own experiences on how to create space in UX for work that incites social change. You'll walk away from the talk with a different way to think about UX, and tips on how to be mindful when choosing projects, creating research studies, and giving feedback to other UXers.

The evening's schedule is:

6:30 - 7:00 food & drink & spontaneous conversation

7:00 - 8:00 speaker & questions

8:00 clean up!
