SecTalks LON 0x01: Ninja Night (Finch's, Finsbury Square)
Details
Welcome to SecTalks London! This month, we'll be discussing solutions to the July CTF, having a few drinks and releasing a new CTF for you to work on.
You'll need to bring:
• Your laptop, for hacking
For this CTF, you'll need the following on your laptop:
• Something to run either 64-bit Linux or OSX executables. I'll try and cross-compile the challenge to Windows but no promises that I'll get it working, so I recommend a quick install of VirtualBox/Ubuntu prior to the night just in case.
• A debugger of some sort.
• A USB port to take a copy of the challenge (if the wifi is broken)
• You'll probably end up writing a little bit of code, so bring your favourite compiler and/or scripting language. Or just solve the whole thing with vim macros.
There's supposed to be wifi and power in the pub, but make sure you can work without both in case there's trouble.
We will work in groups of 3-4, with points to the team with the most ... creative solution.
The venue is Finch's, on Finsbury Square EC2A 1AN. The closest stations are Moorgate and Old St. Meet at 6:30pm, with the CTF starting around 7:00pm.
New to InfoSec? Not a problem. We'll work in teams, and people who solve the challenge are encouraged to write up their solutions for the August meetup.
