3:00 We will paddle up river a ways, and picnic at a scenic spot on the river banks.

Our group of recreational kayakers look out for each other, but we're not certified experts at rescuing novices. Our paddle events have been very successful so far because we stick together as a group in case anyone needs assistance. So relax and have a good time. It's not a race, and everyone will catch up if we give them time.
If you tip over into the water, DON'T PANIC. Just hang onto your boat and paddle until we can rescue you. You'll need to be able to climb back into the boat again.
This is an outdoor event that requires suitable weather. I'll post an update and send out an email if we need to change plans or cancel.
