Let's Go See "The Artist"

Here's a chance to be an informed moviegoer when the Oscars are broadcast on February 26th. "The Artist" has been nominated for best picture, best actor, best supporting actress, best music score, and several other awards because it has captivated a wide audience of film critics and regular adults who appreciate how entertaining it is at every level. It's also completely different from most movies produced in Hollywood. "The Artist" is a black & white silent movie with French stars that celebrates the early days of film-making in the 1920's before the "talkies" took over in the 1930's.

Because the story is interesting and well-told, the actors are fantastic, the old-style movie look is perfectly captured in a modern film, the music is delightful, and it's overall just a wonderfully satisfying entertainment experience. There's even a cute dog co-starring. I'm not arsty-fartsy at all (as anyone who's met me can testify). Yet I LOVE this movie. Gotta see it again!

So let's go see it together! If you've seen "The Artist" already, you know it's worth an extra viewing. And if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and enjoy a wonderful movie experience that's different and fun. You'll come out of the theater feeling good, and you'll know that it was time and money well-spent. Very rare these days...

And on Oscar night, you can chime in with the experts to expound upon what's so cool about "The Artist" and it's intriguing stars.

We are meeting up at 3:00 pm to get our tickets and watch the movie at 3:30 pm. Movie schedules are subject to change, so check again on Sunday to be sure it's still on at that time. I'll send out an email update if it changes.
