Baltimore is showcasing its 32nd annual Artscape Festival, and we need to BE THERE! Artscape is a huge indoor and outdoor street festival that combines interesting and quirky art, lots of colorful exhibits, zany participants, and lively entertainment mixed with good food and drink. It's FREE and it's FUN, which makes it a perfect fit for Second Half Rally!

Meet Up at Cross Street Market

We'll gather inside the Cross Street Market on Federal Hill to grab a quick bite and brew before heading across town to the festival area. Look for us on the Charles St. end of the market area where people are eating and drinking at Nick's Seafood.

We can mingle with the locals at the market while enjoying some authentic Bal'mer food and drink to sustain us for the bus ride. Bruce Lee's Wings has great burgers and juicy crisp wings that are both tasty and inexpensive. Next to it is Nick's Seafood where they serve sushi, steamed shrimp, and a wide variety of beers that customers consume at barrel tables in the market's aisles.

As the center of neighborhood life on Federal Hill, Cross Street Market is an authentic Baltimore experience and always entertaining.

From Cross Street Market, we can catch the free Charm City Circulator bus over to the festival area. We'll get a nice scenic ride up historic Charles St. past the Washington Monument (yes, Baltimore has one too), and we'll avoid the closed streets, traffic, and parking hassles near the festival area.

Parking

Federal Hill is an urban area with limited street parking. The best place to avoid getting a ticket is the West Street Parking Garage operated by the City of Baltimore. It's located at 40 E West St, Baltimore, MD 21230, and parking for all day is $15. The garage is just one block away from the Cross Street Market, so it's very convenient for our visit.

The Artscape Festival

Artscape is America's largest free arts festival, attracting 350,000 attendees over three days. It features 150+ fine artists, fashion designers and craftspeople, visual art exhibits, outdoor sculpture, art cars, photography, and live concerts.

There is a full schedule of performing arts, including dance, opera, theater, film, experimental music, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, as well as food and beverages available throughout the festival site.

The Brewer's Art Pub

After experiencing the attractions of Artscape, we can get some excellent food and a large selection of great beers at the Brewer's Art pub located nearby. It features their own Resurrection Ale that's a legend in knowledgeable Baltimore circles for its strength and curative powers.

Our SHR group's standard policy at restaurants and elsewhere is for members to order and pay for their food and drinks individually. We don't make group reservations or seating arrangements. As individual customers, we get better service and no hassles about splitting checks. So plan to order and pay as you normally would when you go to a restaurant individually, and then we'll socialize together as we always do...

The Brewer's Art is one of Baltimore's best-rated places and was a real taste treat last year. You can read about it on Yelp and the Brewer's Art website:

Charm City Circulator Bus

Following our Brewer's Art visit, we'll catch the Circulator bus back to Cross Street Market to get our cars. The bus runs every 10 minutes. Check it out here:

This Artscape and Brewer's Art event is yet another Real Baltimore Adventure with lots of interesting things and people to see and experience. And the eating and drinking part will be excellent too.
