Will computers one day become like humans -- will they somehow acquire an "intelligence" like ours? Or is intelligence somehow transcendental -- existing apart from biological or artificial origins?
Are we constructs of our own imagination, or are we products of an underlying Will?
Do phenomena such as cosmological singularities hint at a potential for intelligence in the Big Bang?
Is the supposed infinite intelligence of a "god" improbable? Or is it reasonable?
Can the universe be explained in terms of a superimposing transcendental intelligence, an act of evolving will, or is it simply unexplainable?
SBS Member Jeffrey Nadeau will guide SBS attendees' discussion of these issues to help us address one of the most fascinating confluences of Faith in God and Faith in Mankind:
May Infinite Intelligence have given rise to us, or may we one day give rise to It?
Join SBS attendees on Tuesday June 7, 7-9 p.m., at yet another new locale, the NE Minneapolis home church of our merged Trinity + Northeast United Methodist host congregation: Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland St NE (located, like Trinity, on Lowry Ave -- but exactly 10 blocks east of Trinity, or 3 blocks east of Windom Park. Street-park on Lowry, enter the east entrance of NEUMC Church off of Cleveland St, meet in the first room on your left after you enter – the "Coffee Shop" Room.)
Don't miss our SBS dialogue on the past, present and future of "Infinite Intelligence!" RSVP "YES" today! :P
