This is basically a social group for nonreligious people who share the philosophy that there are rational, nonreligious, reasons for being good. Being compassionate and treating others with respect is conducive to the survival and happiness of each of us as individuals as well as to the groups of which we are a part. Those groups include our closest family and friends and extends out to neighbors, to community, and finally to the whole of humanity.
We are a liberal-minded tolerant group that respects our fellow humans and their rights to practice their religions; however, we do let our objections be known (through our votes, petition signing, etc.) to actions that violate our First Amendment rights to keep church and state separate and to have no governmental preference of religion over non-religion.
There is no charge for membership. For social events that you choose to attend, the cost is determined by the establishment where the event is being held. A variety of social events will be planned that require various levels of physical activity from sedentary to very active. Hopefully some of these activities will appeal to you.
