The Security MBA (Masters of Beer Appreciation) has been meeting monthly since 2004, and usually have 30-40 people attend for a 2-3 hour social hour, and vendors almost always buy the beer, so it's Free Beer.
This is a live and interactive version of what G4's Attack of the Show or Jon Stewart's The Daily Show might look like if it covered Information Security.
We're 50% cocktail hour, and 50% a fun, informative, interactive discussion about latest exploits, vulnerabilities, and articles of note in Information Security, cryptography, privacy, law, cybercrime, architecture, governance, Internet, and the like.
We pull from about 100 organizations and 700 on the mailing list, and host a periodic Rump Session, which is a blast.
We meet under Chatham House rules, to ensure we have lively and informative information exchange.
Power Points will get you lynched, brochures are forbidden, though sharing and business card exchange are encouraged. We provide an agenda only because we want to keep the claim that our event is the most fun you can have while earning CPEs, short of firearms training... not that you should ever mix drinking beer and firearms.
You're not going to believe how cool this will be. Stay tuned.
