Selenium @ Adobe: 2 Short Talks

Two of us who work in widely disparate groups at Adobe will present how we've used Selenium on the job, for both test automation and non-testing purposes. We'll share what's worked, what hasn't worked, and our best practices.

  • Test Data Extraction & Generation and Performance Analysis Using Selenium by Ashish Gupta - Adobe Engineering Technology Group
  • Starting from Scratch with RC, Python, and Pysaunter by Mary Ann May-Pumphrey - Adobe EchoSign

Adobe's East Tower is located at 321 Park Avenue in downtown San José very near Highway 87. Free parking is available in the East Tower's garage; enter from Almaden Avenue (at Park Avenue). The Park Conference Room is just off the lobby inside the East Tower. You need to check in with Security before entering the conference room.

People can attend online via Adobe Connect at http://my.adobeconnect.com/seleniumsanjose/

Finally, the Meetup will also be recorded, and the URL made available immediately afterward.

Two thoughtful presentations on how to approach two aspects of testing with selenium: 1. getting started and gaining traction in the effort to move from manual testing to automated testing, and 2. using selenium as a power tool for managing test data in addition to the more common case of asserting correctness. Both were useful and thought provoking (at least they provoked thoughts inside my head...). Thanks to both speakers.
