In Co-Sponsorship with IEEE / Computer Society of Seattle, Please welcome Ivan Herman, head of W3C Semantic Web Activity as he visits Seattle!

Ivan will be visiting with a variety of companies in the Seattle area the week of the 17th of June and Ann Bassetti (https://www.meetup.com/Semantically-Webbed-Seattle-Meetup-Group/members/8015626/)(Boeing representative at the W3C) helped to arrange his presentation at our Meetup. (Thank you Ann for joining our group and setting this up)

Ivan's presentation will cover the gambit of what's been happening in Semantic Web at the WC3 since last years SemTech in San Jose. SO come and welcome him and share the evening finding our what's been up this last year before heading to SemTech 2010 in San Francisco!

Ivan is the Semantic Web Activity Lead (https://www.w3.org/People/Ivan/); his main work at W3C. He is a member of IW3C2 (International World Wide Web Conference Committee) (the committee coordinating the yearly WWW conference series), serving as a liaison for W3C, and of SWSA (Semantic Web Science Association), the committee responsible for the International Semantic Web Conferences series.

As part of his work, Ivan also participates in many outreach activities, and regularly makes presentations, tutorials, etc. You can consult his list (https://www.w3.org/People/Ivan/#pres)of presentations for further details.

Ivan is also the senior researcher at the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Sciences (https://www.cwi.nl/)in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
