$12.00 Annual
Why: This amounts to $1 a month to help cover the meetup.com expenses, name tags, etc
We have nothing against youth, inexperience or married folks, but we just kinda like to hang out with single people of our own age spectrum.
What we do springs from within: we're basically a social group that enjoys meeting for coffee, lunch, walks, day trips and special outings both in and out of town, concerts, festivals, picnics, dances, movies and snacks afterward... well, what do you like to do?
Whatever it is, it probably appeals to some other single men and women fifty-five or over, so we encourage members to post events for activities that they like to do. That way, you often meet new friends interested in the same activity, and our calendar flourishes with a diversity of activities (not to mention the added benefit of scheduling activities in your part of town).
Although originally events tended to be mostly in the north-central part of San Antonio, we have now added more events in various parts of the city, and downtown as well.
That's about it. We're here to enjoy each other's company and get more out of life. We don't have a lot of rules except everybody must be well behaved or be gone.
And guys, have you looked at our balance of women to men? Well, what are you waiting for?
Oh, BTW. This is not my group. It is every member's group. Each member is invited to contribute by posting events that he or she is personally interested in. There is but one rule to this: you need to be at the event or make sure you have a qualitied replacement if something comes up that makes it impossible for you to be there. The idea is, this is not some kind of bulletin-board or social calendar service, because that would make us indistinguishable from an online newspaper. We strive for real social interaction, and that is what these meetups are all about. If you would like to be enabled to post events, please contact me. We must have diversity (geographically and event-wise) to be sustainable for the long haul.
