Meetup with other professionals who are passionate about using Virtual Worlds (such as Second LifeŽ) for serious endeavors, building upon experiences from gaming and entertainment. This could include education, business, science, the arts, literature and whatever else your imagination can conceive. Let's have fun together exploring the potential of this new technology, along with creating new business ventures!

Our objectives are:

a) Foster general awareness of the potential and challenges of Metaverse, Virtual Worlds and Second LifeŽ.

b) Increase collaboration among professionals to leverage Virtual World technology in meaningful ways.

c) Improve the infrastructure for blended meetings to increase productivity and fun.

d) Share the experience/practice of our meetup so that others can organize similar groups.

We are shifting the focus of the Serious Second Life group to get together informally, rather than formal programs at the university. So, in January we will share food and drink at our local Turley's, starting at 4:30 to 6:00pm MDT or so... We have reserved the special Captain's Room near the front entrance. Read more
