30 Days of Service Kickoff Party @ Harvesters!

Serve KC turns 3 in November and instead of a single day of celebration, we decided to go for 30 and because we're a volunteers we had to make it – 30 Days of Service! So, throughout the month of November we'll post at least 1 volunteer opportunity per day and set a goal of 3,000+ hours of community service.

Come kickoff this project and help spread the word about Serve KC on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Harvesters, one of our most popular volunteer charities, and also help our Food Drive get underway.

We'll meet around 12:30 pm in the Hunger Awareness Center (check in with the receptionist), a group tour at 1 pm tour and volunteer for about 2. Once we're done we'll meet back together for the Kickoff Party & cake!

Please bring 3 items from Harvester's Most Needed list:
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Boxed meals - (Hamburger Helper, Pasta Roni)
  • Canned Meat/Tuna
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Soup
  • Cereal – hot and cold
  • Soap
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo
  • Toilet Paper

You can also donate using Harvester's Virtual Food Drive where $1 = 5 meals.

Message or email me at [masked] with any questions regarding this event or how to get involved with the 30 Days of Service project.

This is old news now but wanted to let everyone know that we provided 70 lbs of food which equates to 54 meals! Great job everyone!!

I have been volunteering at Harvesters with ServeKC since June 2012 but never took the tour. I learned a lot about Harvesters that I didn't know. I also learned a lot about ServeKC! I will definitely be branching out and trying other volunteer opportunities through ServeKC and will also start being more vigilant about inviting friends :D
