Seth Readers Austin Message Board › Seth readers' meetup update
Dear Seth readers,
For those of you who missed the meetup last Thursday night, our conversation focused on chapter 3, where Seth addressed what I believe is one of the most important concepts of the Seth material: how our beliefs, ideas and emotions form the events of our lives. In 1972 when it was written, this was a pretty revolutionary idea, and remains an important concept today.
Here’s what Seth said about how this works: Ideas have an electromagnetic reality. Beliefs are strong ideas about the nature of reality. Ideas generate emotion. Like attracts like, so similar ideas group about each other and you accept those that fit in with your particular system of ideas.
He went on to say that people tend to consider their core beliefs as immutable facts about life, rather than simply beliefs that can be changed.
Seth encouraged us to honestly identify and examine our beliefs and put some effort into changing the ones that may not be serving us well. Someone suggested that this month we each try to make a list of our beliefs and talk about it next time. Some of us decided to give it a try. . . maybe you’ll want to, too.
If it’s been a while since you’ve seen chapter 3 in NPR, give it a read again. His sentences are packed with meaning on many levels. There’s so much there; I think you’ll enjoy it.
Fondest regards to you all,
