Let me being by thanking Melissa Westbury for starting this group and entrusting me me to be a co-organizer. After she stepped down, my assuming of the Organizer role seemed like the obvious thing to do. Since the group has a proud record as "Shabby Chic Models and Photographers", I see no benefit in changing it.

Since I first joined this group, I found it be the most free of drama, politics, and restrictions when compared to several other groups that I've had both the opportunity to participate in and be kicked out of, sometimes more than once. My goal is for Shabby Chic to be the "Outback Steakhouse" of Meetup groups, ie, "No rules, just right". Those who feel stressed or held back in some of the other groups are especially encouraged to join.

All that being said, I say it's time to get back to the "good old days". In the near term, I will be counting on others to suggest and arrange events, and I encourage interested parties to assume Organizer roles. Also, I have changed group setting to maximize the ability of any member to set up an event.

I have changed the home location to my Katy ZIP code, but this is by no means to suggest that the group is limited to West Houston.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
