The psychologist Carl Jung theorized over half a century ago about what he called "our shadow selves".
Basically put, our shadow selves are the parts inside of us that we repress, hate, feel ashamed of and hide from the world as much as possible... What Jung stated, though, is that the more we resist these parts of ourselves, the more they affect our lives negatively (For example, a chasted catholic priest having terribly impure sexual thoughts).

One of my favorite teachers - Debbie Ford - has taken Jung's work to wonderful new places and has helped millions of people overcome terrible personal issues by guiding them through her "shadow process" which helps you confront and heal this shadow from a beautiful place of love and understanding.

Her work finally explains why the traditional self-help concept of positive thinking and affirmations doesn't always get the desired results and what to do about it.

So, if you find yourself:

  • Unable to move forward in life
  • Stuck in a place where positive thinking doesn't seem to be helping
  • Sabotaging your life
  • Doing things that repeatedly hurt yourself and/or those you love
  • Unable to shake negative thoughts from your mind
  • Negatively affected by other people and THEIR terrible ways of being
then this work may help you find some answers as to why and what to do about it.

I recently bought a copy of Debbie's new movie "The Shadow Effect" and figured that it would be great to share it and its processes with this group.

I'm thinking we could have a screening of this movie, maybe a short talk afterwards for whoever is interested in discussing the process in greater detail, but more-so just have a fun, enlightening night with a great group of like-mided life-shifters!
