for same day multiple events.
Walking/hiking for fitness, recreation & fun. Explore history and environment. Events occur throughout year, and vary from 2 miles to the annual 32-mile Great Saunter held the first Saturday in May, with even longer walks/hikes on occasion.
Spaces near major waterways are emphasized, with events throughout the tri-state area. We support and advocate environmental and civic causes including preservation of our greenways, maintenance and improvement of trails, and the health benefits of walking.
Activities are led by knowledgeable volunteers, and all members, (after training), are encouraged to lead walks.
Our membership exceeds 1,200, & only a small fraction of them are enrolled in Meetup. (Therefore, THE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES POSTED IN 'MEETUP' FOR ANY ONE EVENT WILL NOT REFLECT THE REAL NUMBER OF ALL PARTICIPATING SHOREWALKERS.)
Voluntary membership: $20/individual and $25/family. Activities are free to members. Nonmembers are always welcomed to participate for a voluntary donation per event. During the year there will be special activities and offerings available ONLY to members.

Bring your friends and relatives and join the other Shorewalkers for our annual post-Thanksgiving walk from the Battery to the Little Red Lighthouse. This is the perfect way to socialize, enjoy the Hudson shoreline in the fall, and walk off those pesky holiday calories at the same time.
