Winter Hike on West Tiger 3

Details

Hey Gals! Let's do a winter hike between Christmas and New Years to burn off some of those cookies! For those of you who are still in town, let's go do a butt buster on West Tiger 3.

We did this one as an after work hike this past summer, but we didn't quite make it to the top. It's 5 miles with an elevation gain of 2100 ft (told ya it was a butt buster!)

It's considered a level 4 (which is considered difficult) and it can get tough in spots. Please consider your hiking level before joining us.

We should be able to finish in about 3.5 hours. Perfect for a morning workout!

Bring a backpack with water, snacks, lunch, 10 essentials and wear good hiking shoes. I'm not sure how muddy the trail will be, but wear stuff you don't mind if it gets dirty just in case. Poles would also be a very good idea, if you have them.

The 10 essentials:

Navigation (map and compass) Sun protection (sunglasses and sunscreen) Insulation (extra clothing) Illumination (headlamp/flashlight) First-aid supplies Fire (waterproof matches/lighter/candles) Repair kit and tools Nutrition (extra food) Hydration (extra water) Emergency shelter Parking passes needed: Discover Pass, only if you park inside the gate. We will most likely be meeting outside the gate anyways, but if you want to park in the upper lot, you will need a pass.

NEW Please also bring a signed copy of the waiver I have posted in our group’s files under the “More” tab.

Hope to see you gals there!
