Island Lake Recreation Area Trail Service Outing & Lunch

This is another volunteer work day for the new Island Lake Recreation Area 5-mile trail for hikers & cross-country skiers only. You can make a difference for decades to come by helping us build this trail, along with the Friends of Island Lake, REI, and the Michigan DNR.
Work consists of mostly tree and brush trimming. No experience is necessary, as there is plenty of work for all skill and ability levels. Tools will be provided, but if you have extra tools such as clippers, loppers, pulaski axes, etc. please bring them. Please bring leather gloves as well if you have them. Long pants are recommended due to some poison ivy and prickly bushes.
Free pizza lunch for all volunteers!
Cost: free, but requires state park entry fee or passport .
