Hike to Hollywood Sign on Mt. Lee (1708 ft)

http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/4/c/8/event_238633512.jpegModerately paced hike to the historic Hollywood Sign (6 miles RT, 1200 ft elevation gain) through scenic Griffith Park; great views of the city and mountains. Mixture of trails and fire roads. Bring hiking boots or sneakers with good tread, 2 quarts water, snack, hat and sun screen, layered clothing, dog supplies. Please, no beginners or tigers. Leashed well-mannered dogs are welcome. Hike should take around 3 to 3.5 hours. Rain/fire cancels.

Directions: Meet in Merry-go-round lot #2. From Los Feliz Blvd, go north 1 mile on Crystal Springs. At 4-way intersection with Ranger Station on right, go left and up short road. When road ends, turn right into a parking lot (lot #1) and take road at opposite corner. The next parking lot is lot #2; we meet at the far end, near the stone steps.
