Details

This hike is not closed, but because it's very different from our usual hikes (and harder than most of them), we would like people to answer some questions before we move them from the waitlist to the hike proper.* For people who come on our evening hikes, you should regularly do hikes at level 4 and above to go on this hike. Thanks for your understanding, and please let us know if you have any questions.

Moderately strenuous hike involves 9 miles RT, 3000' gain to Mt. Lukens (5075'), highest point in the City of Los Angeles! Hike is strictly on trail, but some of it is steep. No beginners. Rain or excessive heat cancels.

Bring: 2 quarts of water, lunch, lug soled boots/shoes, suitable clothing layers, hat, and sunscreen.
