Tumalo Creek Headwaters Hike

Explore the land that supplies Bend with drinking water as we ramble through high mountain meadows and lakes taking in wild flowers and scenic vistas along the way.

We’ll visit the springs that supply most of Bend's surface water and Happy Valley.

Water, water everywhere, right out of the ground--and falls, wonderful falls of Tumalo Creek!

Bring your lunch, wear layers, bring optional trekking stick.  No dogs, please.

    Hi Everyone,

It looks like we have a lot of interest in this hike, and I look forward to showing you all this very special place. I am opening the hike to everyone on the wait list if you want to come. We will be doing a fair amount of off trail hiking through some remote meadows, so you need to be comfortable with hiking over uneven terrain and reasonably fit to take this on. Also, we will be in the Bend Watershed for most of the hike, so no dogs on this one. We'll meet at the Mt. Bachelor park and ride at 8 AM, and will leave at 8:15. Pack a lunch and snacks, water, layers and the 10 essentials.

Sorry we haven't connected with the club this season. The other hike we were going to do got cancelled due to fires. We would have done this one, but it's the day we are driving back from a camping trip in the Odell/Waldo area. Will be doing a hike from Salt Creek Falls to Vivian Lake. Has anyone done this one?
