Join the Verdugo Hills group for my provisional hike! Once I prove that I can handle leading this hike, I will be a certified S.Club leader :) I hope you all can make it!
The path around the lake is all pavement. We will walk halfway around the lake, where there will be an option to hike up a trail to see the Hollywood sign (approx 880’ elev), then back down to the path around the rest of the lake. Or you can just continue around the lake and not hike the hill. Approx 2.5 hours. Distance around lake is 3.5 miles. Bring lugsoles or good tennis shoes, hiking poles, water, hat, sunscreen, $ for optional lunch after. No dogs allowed, rain cancels. Meet 9:30am at Lake Hollywood gate at bottom of hill/Lake Hollywood Dr.
Level: Beginner to semi-beginner.
Directions: Barham Blvd to Lake Hollywood Dr (bet Cahuenga Bl/Forest Lawn Dr). Take Lake Hollywood Dr, turn first left Primera, curve to La Suvida, curve around and up to Wonder View Dr, turn right on Lake Hollywood Dr, go to bottom of hill, then park. Meet at gate at bottom.
